Sacrifice for Sin

Bible Reading:Romans 3:21-26

Memory verse: "God presented Him (Jesus Christ) as a sacrifice of atonement... He did this to demonstrate His justice..." (Romans 3:25-26)

God's heart is full of mercy and love toward us. God loves the world of men and women and does not want anyone to perish in their sins. The whole world (all men and women) was lost in the darkness of sin. God said, "There is no one righteous, no not one." (Rom 3:10). "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." So His love moved Him to send His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to die for our sins.

Jesus came as an offering, a sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. (John 1:29) The Son offered Himself without spot the perfect sacrifice, for your sins and mine. (Heb 9:14) His sacrifice was necessary to atone for sin and remove it forever from God's sight. Through faith in the blood of sacrifice, the sinner is redeemed and his or her sin atoned for and taken away. (Rom 3:25) All men and women are held prisoner by sin. They are slaves to sin. So their greatest need is to be redeemed or freed from the prison house of sin... So He gave His only Son to be the sacrifice for your sins and mine. We cannot understand this great love of God.

Paul said this one final sacrifice of Jesus Christ satisfied God's justice. Because in His fore-bearance He had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished --" (Rom 3:25; Acts 17:30)

God has waited and is still waiting for you to repent and tell Him you are sorry for your sins. He does not want even one person to perish in his sins.

The wrenching, violent death of God's only Son, for the sins of the whole world satisfied the just demands of a holy God. Christ's sacrifice of Himself enabled the Father to be just in offering a free pardon to every sinner. And that includes you!

Have you accepted God's offer of a free pardon? Those who do not repent face God's judgment. Paul wrote, "He will punish those who do not know God... They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of His power on the day He comes to be glorified in His holy people... . "(2 Thess 1:8-9) Jesus said, "there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth as those without Christ are cast into utter darkness. Some say, "A loving God would not do such a thing." But what the Bible says is true. While you have the breath of life and there is still time, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved."

Prayer: Dear Father in heaven, I am sorry for my sins. Thank you for the free pardon You offer by giving up Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die for me. I now accept Him as my Lord and Savior. I ask the Holy Spirit to help me each day. Amen.
