Manna News for September 20, 2007
UK --Jim Norman has been very busy putting translations into the Read-and-Color books. Charlie's Ants is now in German, French, Spanish, Polish and soon to be in Russian and Dutch. The Powerful Lantern has been translated into more than 20 African languages. People want them, but everyone is asking for the Christmas Story. Lorna has outlines, but we need artists.
ZAMBIA -- Leonard Chibende wrote, "Enquiries and orders come from different towns. When we published A Wedding in Heaven, people were curious and we could not keep it on the shelves. Jim Norman finished the Bemba translation of The Powerful Lantern for children. Now we can see the reality of the words of Jesus - 'let the little children come to Me. . . .' "
Through the Read-and-Color books, we see Manna Publications reaching out to the orphans, children in schools and hospitals and the thousands who sit in refugee camps around the world.
SUDAN - The need in Sudan is overwhelming. Pray for Jan King (UK) who has just returned to teach in Sudan. She took Manna Read-and-Color books to give to the wives! Who knows what will happen!
REPUBLIC OF CONGO - Manna Bible study commentaries in French are at the printers. Pray for Jean Ngblat as he takes up the work of Manna Representative in that large country.
TANZANIA - God has raised up an experienced Pastor with an extensive literature ministry to be our Manna Representative for this strategic country. Please pray for Gervase Masanja and his family.
Fred met another brother from Tanzania this summer at Eastern Mennonite University. He also has offered to help with Manna Publications. Praise God with us for these blessings.
MALAWI - In Kettering (UK) David Page's church supports the work of Torch House Trust for the Blind. The church has agreed to underwrite the cost of publishing Manna commentary on MARK in Giant Print and in Braille for Malawi, East Africa. Many people in Malawi suffer from River Blindness caused by a parasite in the water.
WEST BENGAL - (House Church Movement in India) We have adopted the early Church ministry pattern in our ministry. In every locality of east India five to six families come on the first day week in one of the homes to break bread and worship. We have 17 houses churches in W. Bengal. Last month 300 people accepted Jesus by our Radio Program and out of them 56 were baptized. We have started our Bible School with 8 active students. Through Manna Publications we have published some literature in Bengali Language and we have distributed the books to the people. There is a huge need for vernacular literature. We are praying and working to print more literature in Bengali language." Pastor Emmanuel Singh.
MANIPUR (India) - This month we had the great pleasure of meeting in person with Rev Stephen C. from Churachandpur, Manipur, India. He came to visit us with his US host and guide Kevin Young of Washington, PA, who heads up his church's outreach in Shillong, India, Haran Ministries Int'l. The Lord brought Rev. Stephen here to speak at the New Wilmington Missions Conference in July and he has been taking meetings since then. The Lord has given us a burden for these remote parts of the world where very little Christian literature is available to believers. We sent Rev. Stephen home with books to be translated and some resources to help his ministry. Thank you for your part in this.
Thank you for your prayers and support. Please send checks payable to "Manna Publications (USA) Inc." to 13692 Winding Lane, Broadway, VA 22815. You will receive a tax-deductible receipt for your contribution.
